CareGivers
Caregivers Program
This program has undergone many changes, and the previous Live in Care Program
has been stopped for the foreign nationals who want to apply from outside Canada.
Now it takes place through following programs for foreign nationals who are outside
Canada:
● Home Child Care and Home Support Worker Pilot Programs.
Eligibility requirements for the applicant foreign worker:
● Have 1 year of post-secondary credential after passing high school (12 grade).
● ECAS report of your foreign education.
● Some work experience matching that of home support worker, child care, or care
giver of the elderly. Self-employed work or that obtained as housekeeper or
acquired during the studies period, is not accepted
● CLB 5 English test score
● Job offer (without LMIA) from Canadian family / Employer requiring service for
child care, or a justified home support worker assistance.
Process:
The application for Work permit and PR is submitted together. If approved, then a 2 yr
open work permit is given, without it being restricted to one employer. Family can
accompany the applicant and the spouse is eligible for an open work permit.
Then after 2 yrs of work experience in Canada, the person is eligible to become PR,
and can apply with proof of the experience.
But there is an annual cap of 2500 applications each in both the pilot programs.
Please contact us for our expert guidance to fully assess your eligibility as a Canadian
employer who can hire the foreign worker.
